That's the main reason...Cap #110 is PRICEY.

That's the main reason I haven't bit that bullet. I didn't know what Steranko was scripting! Impressive. Sinnott is definitely one the best inkers to so the job. He was in high demand from the 60s going into the 70s.

I would love to see a Spidey/Cap moment in film! Maybe in Avengers 3, they'll offer Spidey a spot on the team...which actually happened in ASM Annual #3 - which, I think, is the first time that Cap and Spidey ever met. The first time that Spidey and Captain America had an actual moment (Cap takes him aside) was in the Avengers story where he helped them fight Nebula. I know it was in the Avengers early 300s. (But we know he...He's just a kid from Brooklyn. (But we know he's more than that.)

It is a key. Tex likes keys.

Cap 110 has a spoiler on the cover. Price guides are also full of spoilers - no way around that.

1969. Steranko does script & pencils. Joe Sinnott inks tighten it up, as you'd expect from a master. Rick Jones finds Bucky's old costume. At first Steve doesn't like the idea of someone else putting it on. Pretty serious stuff for a 12 cent comic. Nothing at all like the story in my imagination from decades of admiring the cover before manning up and paying near guide for a nice copy. It makes me want more Steranko books. (And maybe some art.)

My new favorite moment will be when Steve Rogers and Peter Parker have a chat on the big screen. (When was the first time that happened in the comics?) I'm going to have to reread that Cap ...WOW.

I'm going to have to reread that Cap #250. I'm embarrassed that I don't remember the story that way.

I'm the one who should be jealous of you, pblfsda! I've only got 2 of his TOS appearances!

Thanks for reading and commenting!! And for making me go back and read Cap #250!TEXhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01431168763641004485noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2247842475558683656.post-33420305712961165412016-07-07T18:33:14.358-07:002016-07-07T18:33:14.358-07:00I think you're right, Robbie.
Cap has got ...I think you're right, Robbie.

Cap has got something that the Super Soldier Serum couldn't give him.

Cap #110. Right off the bat I see that amazing Steranko cover in my head. And...I'm realizing that I don't own it. SHEESH!TEXhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01431168763641004485noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2247842475558683656.post-5927115262342488502016-07-06T21:02:44.040-07:002016-07-06T21:02:44.040-07:00I'm jealous; I have all his appearances in Tal...I'm jealous; I have all his appearances in Tales Of Suspense but I don't have THAT (except in reprints). And where in the world is Destruction's second appearance? Is it a flashback or a dream sequence or something?

Ok, one of my top 20 favorite Cap moments (ask again in an hour and I'll have a different one) would be in #250. The previous issue ended with unresolved threads and #250 was expected to be an epilogue. Instead it opens with Cap as the president of the United States and the whole thing feels like a patriotic dream that slowly turns into a totalitarian nightmare. The scenario keeps shifting and becoming difficult for Steve to know what's real. He eventually learns that reality is being reformed by a group of people with powerful latent psychic abilities who have been kidnapped by a control freak who has amplified their powers to recreate America as "perfect". The problem with his plan is that everybody, including the psychics, has a different ideal vision of what America should be. While that gives Cap an angle he can leverage, the fact that most people see him as the embodiment of America means that they might physically tear him apart before he succeeds-- or eliminate his identity. When he finally defeats the villain and frees the few surviving psychics he's forced to wonder if the world has been restored to normal... or if he just believes that it has. THAT's my favorite Cap moment. At the moment.pblfsdahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07471473189061385119noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2247842475558683656.post-56072672293815802122016-07-06T19:53:18.412-07:002016-07-06T19:53:18.412-07:00Is Subby the only one on the cover that isn't ...Is Subby the only one on the cover that isn't in the MCU?

Favorite "Cap moment"? hmmm...
It has to be the Avengers movie; those couple of times Cap starts barking orders and everyone just does what he says - because, of course you do. He clearly knows what he's talking about. I think that's a key part of who he is.

In comics, favorite moment might be the cover to Cap #110. Cap is sizing up a very angry looking Hulk. I don't need the story, just that moment...
Robhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12654084031135523588noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2247842475558683656.post-77298488440011067132016-07-05T16:37:32.786-07:002016-07-05T16:37:32.786-07:00Thanks, Gil.
