Star Wars: Obi-Wan & Anakin #1
I have mixed feelings on this book, Kinda pi$$ed me off! Yet i liked the back ground story.
We see Anakin get his light saber for the first time & Obi-Wan is shown to be what every Master Jedi should be. The story is very early in the young padawan's journey. There on a planet that has asked for help from the Jedi's.
Artwork is a little to much (trying to hard to look like a movie) if fact quite blurry at times.
It reads well, But...OMG i'm sick of hearing Anakin say "yes master, i'm sorry master, i'll do better master...can i take a S#!% master, sigh!!! All it reminds me of is the dreadful portrayal of Anakin in those movies. (don't get me wrong, Hayden Christensen acted in one of my favorite movie's, Jumper Great concept) Just a bad choice for the character Anakin.
There's some good in the book though, Chancellor Palpatine is seen taking a interest in the boy very early on. Meaning he knew back then where it was all going, Showing us the reader that he was truly a Dark lord of the Sith.
If your a fan of star wars then go for it. It pains me to say it, But i'm over the yes master, i'm sorry master...WTF master routine.
Done with Anakin, Bring on Kylo Ren.
Rating: 5/10
Thanks, Gil.
