  1. Hey Tex,
    Netflix series was great.
Ya know, for a superhero series, they sure did spend a lot of time talking about sports. That's a first.

When will Netflix expand to more than 2 a year?

    1. Hey, Robbie!

      Good to hear from you.

I enjoyed Luke Cage very much. You ever been to a barber shop up in Harlem? You are going to argue about sports, lemme tellya. :-D

I don't know Netflix's plans, but I am tired of waiting an entire year for only 12 episodes of a show. It's why I gave up on Game of Thrones 2 years ago - and I think that series only does 10 episodes. Just lazy. It was the same with True Blood before that. It'd be nice if Netflix would set up seasons of Marvel shows that filled the year up (mostly). For me, I think the issue is binging. Instead of watching one episode per week, I'll wait until I can knock the series out in a weekend, which leaves me REALLY feeling the long wait until the next season.

Good thing is we have Iron Fist, The Punisher, and The Defenders to look forward to, as well as follow-on seasons of Daredevil and Luke Cage. Maybe even a Daughters of the Dragon series is possible.

It is a good time to be a comics fan!

  2. I've never been to Harlem, but the barber shop 'felt' authentic. I think the audience can tell if the world doesn't feel real. Still, it's anti-fan service :)

From what I've been reading, everyone who likes Harlem music or Blaxsplotation totally loves Luke Cage. Netflix has grabbed a bunch of new fans who weren't interesting in superhero flix. Well done.

Did you notice Clair grabbed Coleen Wing's # off the telephone pole? That leaves us one bionic arm shy of the Daughters. :) Looks like Clair gets to be in all the shows.

The swear jar was for Prince. He had one. The plan was to show him the first 2 episodes and talk him into doing a song in ep 13. Didn't work out...

Sigourney Weaver will be in the Defenders. It keeps getting better.
I just started on GoT. Wanted to wait until there were plenty of them.

  3. The loss of Prince is a tragedy.

That man was a prodigious talent. I didn't know about the swear jar, or his being tapped to be in the show. That would have been amazing.

I did see Claire grab that self-defense tab of Colleen Wing's!! I can't wait to see how Wing is introduced, and I would not be upset at all if we get a Daughter's of the Dragon spin-off!! It does look like Claire Temple is the tie that binds all the shows together. I wonder if there is more to that. Linda Carter of "Night Nurse" hasn't made any appearances in the MCU, neither has Georgia Jenkins, but Christine Palmer will be played by Rachel McAdams in the Doctor Strange film.

    I never get enough Sigourney...
